Robert Clark

I have trained in Transactional Analysis (more on Transactional Analysis here), but use a range of other techniques, such as attachment theory and ACT. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Psychotherapy is my second career. I worked for a number of years in science, which still influences my therapeutic style and, using hypothesis and deduction as tools to get to the heart of the problem. However, I also like to introduce elements of creativity, free association and spontaneity into my practice, when both client and myself feel it is appropriate. Access to our imagination can unlock insights that otherwise would remain unnoticed. It can also make the work more fun.

You can read more about my journey to psychotherapy on my ‘Meet the Therapist’ page.

More about some of the methods I use can be found in My Approach.

Ethics and Confidentiality

In my work, I follow the guidelines of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy for ethics and good practice.

All the sessions are confidential.

No Judgement Policy

There will be absolutely no judgement - you can bring everything that you are, your dark side, your insecure side, absolutely everything. As human beings we are complex, and no one is just good or just bad. My work is informed by that principle.
